The Story...so far!

At the time nearly none of these songs written as a teenager, were recorded or played in the different youth bands he were active in. But now 35-40 years later, this has changed. Now the more experienced and older Berry Lefthand has recorded and produced quite a lot of the songs. It was allowed to make a change in the chord sequence or lyrics here and there, they were arranged and produced by the older alter ego giving the young teenager some fresh advices on his creations. A lot of the choices were agreed upon, but some of the arguments were won by either the young one or the older version of Berry Lefthand.

The Spectrum

While recording the songs released on the debut album “From Teen To Tin”, Berry Lefthand found more songs written in his teenage years he wanted to work with. The songs were adapted and tweaked here and there, but the main parts of the songs were left as originally written. The songs were inspired by love, books, television and general speculations that come to your mind. It’s still popping, it’s still rocking, with a little bit of madness added.

That's Left

Actually, the recording of the 7th album from the one-man-band Berry Lefthand, was started about 20 years ago. And finished in the crazy period of spring 2020. Most of the songs were written over a span of 10 years, and even one that goes back to the teenage years. Berry tells: “A lot of things have happened since the 2019 release of the last album “With the Near and the Dear Ones”. And I think it is about time to let these songs see the light of day. Most of the time we are preparing for tomorrow, but the truth is that we don’t know what will happen in the future. Hence the double meaning of the album title.” This album is dedicated to my late mother.

Best Kiss

When I was growing up, there was always music playing in the house. From my brother’s rooms, rock bands like Deep Purple, Sweet and Slade filled the air. My mother listened to radio stations during the day with hymns and old folk songs. And my father preferred instrumental versions of a wide variety of songs, arranged for orchestras like Bert Kaempfart, Herp Albert and especially James Last. And off cause to all of this I added my own favorite musicians and artists. The feelings and the emotions behind each of the melodies have given the tune its title. This album is dedicated to my father.
